The 'crack and slab' capital of Western Norway
Uskedalen offers fantastic granite big-wall climbing with the classical characteristics of glacially carved environment: low angled slabs at the base of the wall, upward steepening with cracks and dihedrals as far eye can see. Surrounded by the fjord and the glacier Folgefonna, the area is nothing but scenic. The big-wall holds one of Norway's most famous multi-pitch route, En Midtsommernatt's Drøm, offering sustained climbing up to 6c (french grade). Our most popular guided climb goes at moderate climbing grade (4-5) for 6 pitches.
If the weather turns wet we can always short rope one one of the ridge climbs in the area.
Only a few routes have bolts and anchors, and the valley style is natural protection - making this a true rock climbing experience.
